Shortly after Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on the United States’ east coast, Blizzard Entertainment announced that each Cinder Kitten battle pet purchased by December 31, 2012, would benefit those affected by the storm. Blizz donated 100 percent of the revenue from this pet store item to the American Red Cross, earmarked for Sandy victims.
World of Warcraft’s Cinder Kitten is still available for purchase at the usual pet price of $10.00 USD. You can also pick up several mounts, including the Winged Guardian, Heart of the Aspects, Celestial Steed (the Sparkle Pony) and the brand new Swift Windsteed. Other available pets include Lil’ XT, Lil’ K.T., and the Pandaren Monk.
