TERA is short for The Exiled Realm of Arborea. The game is slated for a 2011 release date and anticipation is running high. En Masse Entertainment is developing TERA Online from a South Korean title that’s already proven popular throughout Asian countries. Former Blizzard and NCsoft developers are now a part of En Masse Entertainment; both companies have an illustrious history of big-title releases such as World of Warcraft and Lineage 2.
TERA will require a monthly subscription fee, but as its developers advertise it as “the first true action MMORPG” with a completely new battle system, the game has something unique to offer to players who want the fast pace of action gaming with the depth and sophistication of a roleplaying game. En Masse plans to offer a Westernized game that is more than just translation of the Korean version; new themes, quests, stories and gameplay styles will make an appearance in the North American and European TERA.
The Korean version of TERA Online offers six playable races and eight classes. The North American version is likely to feature all of these plus the possibility of more classes to come. En Masse expects to launch this exciting fantasy MMORPG in the fourth quarter of 2011.
