SWTOR coming to Austral-Asia
Published on: Feb 18, 2012 | By: TJSonntag
Aussies, Kiwis and Chinese gamers have a lot to be excited about next month; Electronic Arts announced that their popular sci fi MMO Star Wars: The Old Republic will finally be launching in Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore on March 1, 2012.
The game released in the US / EU in December 2011 and has already sold more than two million copies. If you’re in one of those areas and couldn’t wait, you’ll be able to request a free character transfer after March 1. That will get you back in your own time zone, and help you with finding groups and the like.
Patching, hotfixing, new content and fine-tuning is still an ongoing process with SWTOR, and likely will be for quite some time. If you’re still looking at the title with a cautious eye, it wouldn’t hurt to wait for a free trial. Typically, those who most excited about a new game will have it within the first few weeks. If you’re able to wait, give it a few more months while the developers iron out any lingering issues.
