Batheo is a free-to-play building and strategy game set against the backdrop of an ancient fictional world that incorporates aspects of Greek mythology. The player starts the game in control of a city and some crops. As they progress through the game, the player will be able to expand their city and accrue resources and workers. Leveling up a city is essential in order to unlock new types of buildings and increase the efficiency of crops

Batheo game uses a map-based story structure. Players must successfully complete each city’s challenges in order to progress to the next map area. Many NPCs the player will come into conflict with can be recruited after they have been defeated.

Batheo incorporates eight different factions like the Testudo, Lochoi, and Crescent factions. Each faction has their own strengths and weaknesses, adding to the depth of strategy.

The strategies the player chooses will determine whether they are victorious or not. Batheo offers both Player-vs-player and computer-controlled combat. Once a legion has been defeated the player may then recruit their heroes, increasing the offensive capabilities of their own army. Victory depends on more than steel and magic, though. In the Batheo game players must make sure they have enough supplies for extended campaigns. Running out of weapons, armor, troops or horses in the middle of a major battle will make victory uncertain.
